Tosufloxacin tosylate is a racemate comprising equimolar amounts of (R)- and (S)-tosufloxacin tosylate. It has a role as an antimicrobial agent, an antiinfective agent, a hepatotoxic agent, a topoisomerase IV inhibitor and a DNA synthesis inhibitor. It contains a tosufloxacin(1+), a (S)-tosufloxacin tosylate and a (R)-tosufloxacin tosylate.
